With her extensive experience as a special education teacher, Ambyr has been in the trenches implementing IEPs and collecting data. She knows firsthand what students need to to grow, not just survive, in the classroom. We tried several advocates and found some to be too aggressive and others too passive, and all made the process very complicated. Ambyr thoroughly reviewed my daughter's proposed IEP and gave very clear recommendations for adding, deleting, or improving goals--and provided a rationale for each recommendation so that we could have a productive conversation with teachers and administrators during the IEP meeting. The result was the cleanest, most actionable IEP my daughter had had to date, and that changed the course of my daughter's education. -Parent-

Ms. Ambyr has been an incredible resource as a tutor for my 8 year old daughter, who has ADHD and a math processing disability. She really takes the time to get to know my daughter as a person and figure out which strategies work specifically for her - with great success! My daughter has shown remarkable academic improvement with Ms. Ambyr's help - and what's even better is that she looks forward to tutoring sessions because Ms. Ambyr is so fun and engaging. Ms. Ambyr has been a godsend to our family!

My son has been working with Ambyr for about a year now, and the growth that I have seen in him is unbelievable. He went from not being able to learn one lesson in school to excelling in every subject. She’s patient with him, kind, loving and energetic while teaching him. My son does not take to everyone because of his anxiety, but he took to Ambyr immediately because of the love and comfort she gives him. I am so grateful that we have Ambyr in my son’s life and I wouldn’t trade her for the world.

“Ambyr gave us useful tools to navigate our son’s IEP meeting with knowledge and confidence. She helped us advocate for our son at his annual meeting and gave us specific questions to ask in order to obtain the right support for him in his education. Ambyr’s scrutiny, experience and thoroughness was a godsend!"

A few months after starting 4th grade I moved my son into Ms. Hinton’s class. She provided stability, encouragement and really made him feel “heard”. As a parent I also felt heard and respected. As we navigated neurodiversity diagnosis Ms Hinton was instrumental in giving her thoughts, observations and guided us throughout the process. I am sad my daughter won’t be able to experience Ms Hinton’s classroom but I know that any student lucky enough to be with her will thrive.

Ms. Hinton was my 4h grade Social Studies teacher in 21-22. She was one of the most amazing teachers ever. She has inspired me way past a traditional classroom, but a universal experience that has changed the way I look at learning today. She provides guidance, hands-on learning, structure, and yet still a lot of fun. Not only that, but she has also been such a mentor to me socially and mentally, with such a friendly perspective to it. She is so creative too, especially with coming up with tasks that everybody will understand, especially visually (my favorite one was her QUEEN George role play). I am of course sad that my younger sisters won't get to have her, but look forward to seeing her latest adventures, providing even more than what my school could give her.
